Polishing and Grinding

Centerless Grindning

Trinel performs the method of centerless grinding called Thru-Feed. The part, bar or tube, passes in between the grinding and regulating wheels supported by a work rest guide. This produces a product that is round and straight. Alloys, Stainless, Copper and Plastics
  • Bar and tube capabilities up to 100 feet in length.
  • Diameters from 1/16″ to 11 1/2″ in diameter.
  • Tolerances held to .0004 limit.
  • Micro finishes to 10 rms.
  • Small orders or truckloads.
  • Sizes and Tolerances to your specification

Polishing

Trinel can polish in three different ways:
  1. Polishing (burnishing), when we use a roll straightener on turned product to enhance surface quality.
  2. Belt Sander (picture above), used on larger diameters to size and finish turned, ground and polished bars.
  3. Cork Wheel Diameters to provide customers with desired finishes. Using grinding machines, to produce finishes for chrome plate and turned, ground and polished bars.

Chamfering / Cutting / Packaging

Chamfering

Trinel has installed a chamfering machine to do diameters from 1/2″ to 1-1/2″

  • Any Length and Grade
  • Application for Loading Systems or Screw Machines

Cutting

Saw Cutting

  • All Diameters Cut to Length
  • 1/8″ Tolerance on Cutting

Straightening

  • Trinel can straighten all materials to our customer’s specification whether it is to industry standard (1/8″ to 5′) or to pumpshaft quality (.0015 per foot).
  • We are capable of straightening bar and tube in two different processes, press and rotary.
  • We can produce straightness and inspection reports for tight tolerance jobs. Such as pump shafts, boat shafts and tir readings.
  • We specialize in pump shaft and boat shaft tolerances.

Turning

Production Bar Turning

– 1/2″ to 4 1/2″ Diameter

Trinel has recently purchased a new high production bar turner capable of turning diameters from 1/2″ – 2″. We also have a No. 4 bar peeler capable of turning 1″ – 4 1/2″ diameters.

This process cleans the surface of the bars by removing scale and imperfections. Bars are processed continually through this machine, producing a bar that is round and held to a consistent size.
